Information we collect
We collect information you provide, information created when you use No Halo, and limited technical information needed to operate and improve the service.
- Account information: your email address, account identifier, authentication records, and account status.
- Purchase information: the credits, subscriptions, or services purchased, amount, date, trial and renewal status, payment status, and related Stripe identifiers. Stripe processes payment-card details. No Halo does not receive or store your full card number.
- Research and workspace activity: charities searched, selected, saved, or added to a portfolio; comparisons you build; reports requested; research status; private notes and tasks; due dates; team invitations and roles; audit activity; exports; saved reports; source coverage; monitoring preferences and delivery history; and related support or correction requests.
- Professional-service information: details you choose to provide about a proposed gift, diligence questions, timing, documents, and contact information.
- Institutional-access information: your organization, role, intended use, approximate charity volume, requested product areas, integration timing, API credential metadata, and usage records.
- Usage and diagnostic information: page views, referral and campaign information, browser and device information, approximate location derived from an IP address, performance measurements, and application or resource-loading errors.
- Newsletter information: your email address, the page where you subscribed, the consent language and time, confirmation status, delivery events, and unsubscribe or suppression status.
How we use information
We use information to provide accounts, Advisor Workspace collaboration, monitoring and research, process purchases and subscriptions, preserve your report archive, communicate about a request, prevent fraud and abuse, troubleshoot failures, improve report quality, understand how the service is used, and comply with legal obligations.
We may use aggregated or de-identified information to evaluate service performance and research coverage. We do not sell personal information.
Service providers
We share information only as reasonably necessary with providers that help operate No Halo. These may include payment processing, authentication, database, hosting, email, analytics, error monitoring, and research infrastructure providers. Those providers receive information for the services they perform and are subject to their own contractual and legal obligations.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect the security or rights of No Halo or others, or as part of a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of the business. If a business transfer occurs, this policy will continue to apply unless you are notified otherwise.
Public records and reports
No Halo researches charities using public and licensed sources. A charity report may contain names and professional information found in public filings, audits, court records, organization websites, news coverage, and similar sources. Purchased Deep Research reports are kept in the purchasing account's private archive by default.
A customer may choose to create a revocable, unlisted link to an exact dated report. Anyone who receives that link can read the report without an account. The shared page does not identify the customer and is marked not to be indexed by search engines, but No Halo cannot control further distribution by a recipient. No Halo may record aggregate access and diagnostic information for shared pages. Revoking the link ends future access through that address. Customer sharing does not place a report in No Halo News or make it a No Halo editorial publication.
Cookies and local storage
No Halo and its service providers may use cookies or similar browser storage for sign-in, security, preferences, checkout continuity, analytics, and reliable operation. Blocking these technologies may prevent account, checkout, or archive features from working correctly.
Retention
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain research and transaction records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal or accounting obligations. Retention periods vary by record type. We may retain de-identified information that can no longer reasonably identify you.
Your choices
You may ask to access, correct, or delete personal information associated with your account by emailing hello@nohaloresearch.com. Some records may need to be retained for security, fraud prevention, completed transactions, legal obligations, or the integrity of a dated research archive. You may also submit factual corrections concerning a published charity report through the corrections process.
No Halo Weekly requires email confirmation. Every edition includes an unsubscribe link, and you may also use the unsubscribe page. Unsubscribed and suppressed addresses may be retained on a do-not-send list so we can honor that choice.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards intended to protect information. No online system can guarantee absolute security. Please use a secure email account and notify us if you believe your No Halo account or a payment has been used without authorization.
Children
No Halo is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information through the service.
United States service
No Halo is based in Ohio and is designed primarily for users and organizations in the United States. Information may be processed in the United States and other locations where our service providers operate.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the service changes. The effective date above identifies the current version. Material changes will be presented through the site or another reasonable notice.
Questions about privacy can be sent to hello@nohaloresearch.com.
