What the core datasets add
Organization identity
The IRS master file provides names, EINs, mailing addresses, classification codes, filing requirements, and summary financial fields. Coverage includes the states, District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the international file.

Publication 78, automatic revocation history, and Form 990-N notices add separate evidence about IRS status and reporting. These records are preserved with dates so a historical status is not mistaken for a current one.

Form 990, 990-EZ, 990-PF, and supported 990-T XML supplies the detailed financial record and schedules. The original XML is retained alongside parsed values so a reader can go back to the source.

Counts reflect saved production checkpoints. Source rows are not always unique organizations, and completed files may later be refreshed when an agency publishes new data.
Additional evidence sources
The research report goes beyond the organization directory when supported source evidence can be matched safely to the charity. The source registry below shows the current integration status and the identity-matching limits that matter before any record can influence a conclusion.
Coverage is not an assessment.
An imported filing tells us what was reported to a public authority. It does not prove that a program worked, that a policy was followed, or that no undisclosed issue exists. No Halo keeps those questions separate. The research report evaluates the usable evidence, states the gaps, and shows how much of the expected record was actually available.
