HHS selects Cedars-Sinai to test faster transfers for patients needing specialized trauma care
The Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response selected Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for a $500,000 first-year Trauma Care Readiness and Coordination Program award. Cedars-Sinai will design and test a scalable regional pathway intended to speed transfers of adult and pediatric patients who need specialized trauma or surgical care after an initial hospital evaluation.

Why this matters
Delays in moving critically injured patients between hospitals can affect survival and recovery. A workable regional transfer model could improve routine trauma care and emergency readiness and may be suitable for adoption elsewhere.
