Federal judgment restores NCJW Greater New Orleans voter-registration access at naturalization ceremonies
According to counsel for the National Council of Jewish Women, Greater New Orleans Section, a federal court entered final judgment permanently setting aside a federal policy that barred nongovernmental organizations from providing voter-registration assistance at naturalization ceremonies. Counsel said the administration agreed to the judgment, waived appeal and reinstated the prior guidance, allowing the section to resume the work.

Donor relevance
Why this matters
The final judgment removes a restriction that had directly interrupted a documented nonprofit program. It changes the earlier donor picture from an uncertain, temporarily blocked operation to one that counsel says may legally resume without a government appeal.
