American Red Cross reports nearly 800 responders deployed for storms in the Pacific and Gulf Coast

The American Red Cross reported that close to 800 local and deployed responders supported communities affected by Super Typhoon Champi in Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands and Hurricane Isaias along the Gulf Coast. It said more than 350 responders remained active on October 19. The organization reported operating or supporting 15 island shelters used by more than 1,000 people and 21 evacuation centers in Florida, Mississippi and Alabama, while also providing meals, relief supplies, casework and support for military families.

Status matters. This page records a sourced development, not a completed No Halo investigation. An allegation is not a finding. Dismissals, settlements, judgments, corrections and final outcomes remain distinct.

Donor relevance

Why this matters

The reported deployment shows a large, simultaneous emergency response across widely separated U.S. communities. Shelter operations, feeding routes, relief distribution and casework provided immediate public benefit during displacement and infrastructure disruption.
