People’s Housing+ helped reopen a former New Orleans firehouse as affordable housing and an early-learning center
People’s Housing+ and Alembic Community Development completed the redevelopment of a long-vacant, 114-year-old Central City firehouse. The mixed-use property includes seven affordable apartments and a first-floor early-childhood center designed for 60 students. Verite News reported that the project was the first completed through the New Orleans Redevelopment Agency’s framework for returning underused public property to community service.
