Federal complaint alleges Home At Last founder diverted millions intended for homeless housing

The U.S. Attorney's Office said federal agents arrested Home At Last founder Michael Young on a wire-fraud complaint alleging that he used sham vendors and fraudulent billing to divert more than $7.5 million from publicly funded homeless-housing programs. Prosecutors said Home At Last received more than $118 million from public agencies and that the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority canceled its contracts with the charity in June 2026. The complaint contains allegations, and Young is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
