Fast Forward-backed study reports service-delivery gains and a scaling gap among AI nonprofits
Fast Forward released a study based on a survey of 119 AI-powered nonprofits in 20 countries and 20 interviews with nonprofit leaders and funders. Ninety-two percent of surveyed organizations self-reported more efficient service delivery, and 55% said AI enabled personalized services at scale. Although 90% reported plans to scale, only 24% said they had the necessary resources.
Status matters. This page records a sourced development, not a completed No Halo investigation. An allegation is not a finding. Dismissals, settlements, judgments, corrections and final outcomes remain distinct.
Donor relevance
Why this matters
The report offers a notable signal about nonprofit technology innovation while identifying a donor-relevant gap between successful pilots and the funding needed for maintenance, monitoring and responsible growth.
Attribution
Who reported or established this
Fast Forward published the report with support from Google.org and said the research was led by Third Plateau. The reported gains were based primarily on nonprofit respondents' own assessments.
Evidence limits
What remains unverified
No Halo has not established that the sample represents the wider nonprofit sector, independently measured the claimed efficiency or service gains, or determined that AI caused better beneficiary outcomes.
Right of reply
Organization response
Fast Forward said funders should support the full technology lifecycle, including long-term infrastructure and maintenance, rather than funding only pilot projects.
