LifeWise Academy’s counsel says Everett school district settled religious-discrimination lawsuit and agreed to apologize

First Liberty Institute, which represented LifeWise Academy, reported that Everett Public Schools settled LifeWise’s lawsuit after the organization challenged district restrictions on its voluntary religious-release program. According to counsel, the board-approved agreement requires policy changes, religious-liberty training, a public written apology and payment of $275,000 in attorney fees. The settlement ends the lawsuit; it should not be treated as a court finding on every allegation.

Status matters. This page records a sourced development, not a completed No Halo investigation. An allegation is not a finding. Dismissals, settlements, judgments, corrections and final outcomes remain distinct.

Donor relevance

Why this matters

The agreement replaces an active legal dispute with defined remedies and removes reported barriers to LifeWise’s Everett-area operations. Donors should note both the favorable outcome and that the consulted source came from the organization’s legal counsel.
