Midwest Food Bank reports coordinated disaster supplies reached communities in four states

Midwest Food Bank reported that recent disaster operations sent more than 1,000 food boxes to communities affected by fires in Spokane, 500 cleanup buckets to Indianapolis, and thousands of hygiene kits and food boxes to Hawaii. It also said more than 1,040 cleanup buckets packed in North Carolina were redirected to flood-affected West Virginia, where a local partner reported that all had been distributed, including deliveries to students' homes through five elementary schools.

Donor relevance

Why this matters

The update describes a multi-state logistics operation that moved pre-positioned food, hygiene and cleanup supplies to communities facing fires and floods. The West Virginia response also shows how advance preparation allowed supplies to be redirected quickly when a second flood occurred.
