Practically Perfect Wishes and Dreams closes, disputes personal-gain allegations and promises limited reimbursements

News 6 reported that families questioned promised wish trips after Practically Perfect Wishes and Dreams announced an immediate closure. The nonprofit said most of the 80 families receiving notices did not have finalized trips, denied that personnel used the program for personal gain, and said it intended to reimburse four families a combined $6,383 for travel expenses.

Status matters. This page records a sourced development, not a completed No Halo investigation. An allegation is not a finding. Dismissals, settlements, judgments, corrections and final outcomes remain distinct.

Donor relevance

Why this matters

The closure ends unfinished wish activity and materially changes the outlook for families and donors. The reimbursement plan is remedial action, but most payments remained outstanding when reported and the organization said transaction records still needed review.

Who reported or established this

The families' concerns were reported by WKMG News 6 from interviews and supplied messages. The denials, closure explanation and reimbursement plan were provided by the nonprofit through attorney Chad Rogers.

Evidence limits

What remains unverified

No Halo has not established how donations for particular families were allocated, whether all representations about trip funding were contractual promises, whether all planned reimbursements will be completed, or whether any regulator is investigating. No court or regulator finding of misuse was located in the consulted material.

Right of reply

Organization response

The nonprofit said a granted wish meant planning had been approved, not that arrangements were final or fully funded. It cited Tina Rivero's health, funding problems and negative accusations as reasons for closing; said fundraising by families was voluntary; reported completing three wishes; denied personal gain; and said an initial reimbursement installment had been sent with further monthly payments planned.
