Community Response Fund reports $5.02 million awarded and more than 500 Fox Valley tornado-affected families served

The Community Response Fund, managed by the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region with United Way Fox Cities and the Oshkosh Area Community Foundation, reported that it had awarded $5,021,050 to 33 nonprofits. Of that amount, $4.1 million was designated for household financial assistance, $250,000 for rebuilding damaged housing and $671,050 for immediate relief. Partner nonprofits LEAVEN and People of Progression reported helping more than 500 tornado-affected families since September 1, while more than 600 additional requests or appointments remained.

Status matters. This page records a sourced development, not a completed No Halo investigation. An allegation is not a finding. Dismissals, settlements, judgments, corrections and final outcomes remain distinct.

Donor relevance

Why this matters

The fund converted donations from more than 5,300 contributors into a coordinated regional response supporting direct household aid, housing recovery and nonprofit emergency operations. The remaining caseload also provides donors with a clear measure of unmet need.

Evidence limits

What remains unverified

No Halo has not independently audited the awards, confirmed how much money had reached households by September 16, verified the number of unique families served or assessed the sufficiency and long-term results of the assistance.

Right of reply

Organization response

The fund’s partners said all money donated to date had been awarded and requested an additional $4 million because demand remained high. LEAVEN’s executive director said families were facing overlapping losses involving housing, income, vehicles, insurance deductibles and personal belongings.
