Wisconsin investigates alleged staffing problems at Walker's Point youth shelter as placements pause

The Wisconsin Department of Children and Families confirmed an investigation of the nonprofit's runaway-youth program following complaints. The eight-bed shelter stopped housing young people and accepting placements during the review. Former employees alleged that untrained college interns had been used to fill staffing gaps. Executive Director Kali Daugherty separately acknowledged serious personnel-file compliance deficiencies, including missing background-check and training records. The state said the investigation does not involve suspected abuse or neglect.
