Traverse Area Community Sailing reports threats, theft and growing safety concerns around its youth boathouse
A Traverse Area Community Sailing coach said a man threatened staff, pushed a coach and intimidated a high-school team captain earlier in September. The coach also reported that athletes' belongings were taken from the boathouse on September 22. Police separately reported an armed confrontation in the surrounding park that night. The nonprofit asked city leaders for immediate safety measures.
