Trinity Health plans 557 technology layoffs as it outsources support work

September 8 reporting identified 557 planned permanent layoffs associated with Trinity Health's technology outsourcing, based on a Michigan worker-notification filing. Subsequent reporting placed the reductions in October and November and said clinical positions would not be affected. The outsourcing strategy had been announced in June; the newly reported development established the number of affected employees.

Status matters. This page records a sourced development, not a completed No Halo investigation. An allegation is not a finding. Dismissals, settlements, judgments, corrections and final outcomes remain distinct.

Donor relevance

Why this matters

This is a substantial workforce and service-delivery restructuring. Donors should distinguish the elimination of internal technology jobs from a reduction in clinical services, which the reporting did not establish.
