Snook Foundation alleged former employees and its accountant created an unauthorized $2.5 million pension arrangement

The Foley-based private foundation filed a third lawsuit on October 14 as part of litigation alleging that three former employees and the charity’s longtime accountant secretly established and funded a pension plan that cost the foundation more than $2.5 million. The complaints allege forgery, deception and concealed benefit-plan payments made without trustee authorization. The allegations have not been proven, and an attorney for two former employees strongly denied them.

Status matters. This page records a sourced development, not a completed No Halo investigation. An allegation is not a finding. Dismissals, settlements, judgments, corrections and final outcomes remain distinct.

Donor relevance

Why this matters

The alleged losses are substantial relative to the foundation’s grantmaking and expose claimed weaknesses in trustee oversight, check approval and supervision of a small staff with broad financial authority.
