Haverford College says antisemitism lawsuit was dismissed with prejudice as settlement remedies move forward

Haverford College reported that the federal lawsuit brought by Jews at Haverford was dismissed in its entirety with prejudice following a confidential settlement. The plaintiffs had alleged that the college failed to protect Jewish community members from antisemitic harassment and discrimination. Haverford announced a nine-member College Antisemitism Committee and said it had revised policies concerning masking, campus events, admissions information, civil-rights oversight and its Honor Code. Mandatory antisemitism-awareness training remained in development.

Status matters. This page records a sourced development, not a completed No Halo investigation. An allegation is not a finding. Dismissals, settlements, judgments, corrections and final outcomes remain distinct.

Donor relevance

Why this matters

The dismissal closes litigation that raised donor-relevant questions about campus safety and civil-rights compliance. The announced committee, policy revisions and planned training provide concrete remedial measures, although their effectiveness has not yet been independently measured.

What remains unverified

No Halo has not established the truth of the underlying discrimination allegations, reviewed the confidential settlement terms or independently verified the implementation and effectiveness of every announced remedy. A settlement is not a judicial finding of liability.

Right of reply

Organization response

Haverford said the matter is closed and cannot be refiled. It described policy changes already in force, announced the committee's membership and charge, and said mandatory awareness training was in the final stages of implementation.
