Westhab opened a 130-bed rapid-rehousing center for homeless men in the Bronx

Westhab opened the Van Cortlandt Men’s Rapid Rehousing Center in North Riverdale, adding 130 beds to New York City’s homeless-services network. The organization said the center would help residents stabilize, connect with services and move toward permanent housing. Following neighborhood concerns about safety and operations, Westhab told the Bronx Times that the site would have around-the-clock staff and security, plus patrol vehicles monitoring surrounding streets.
