Pine Street Inn and partner open 99-unit supportive-housing development for older adults leaving homelessness
The Boston Globe reported that Pine Street Inn and The Community Builders officially opened a converted Dorchester hotel as permanent supportive housing on October 7. Ninety-six of the 99 apartments were already occupied by formerly homeless adults over age 62, including six veterans. Pine Street Inn is providing on-site casework and counseling services.

Donor relevance
Why this matters
The project created nearly 100 permanent homes for an especially vulnerable population and paired the housing with on-site support. Its near-full occupancy at opening represents a substantial, concrete expansion of local homelessness services.
